ABOUT THE CONGRESS
The Eastern Economic Congress (EEC) is the only such broad-ranging and multi-themed recurrent public debate in Poland on the conditions and development opportunities for the greater region. The need for an open discussion on the future of Eastern Poland needs... no discussion.
Each year, this event draws prestigious guests from the worlds of politics and business, and is appreciated in business circles and by local authorities. The Congress has extensive media coverage and has become a permanent element of a recurrent public debate on the prospects for the eastern regions of Poland.
This year's sixth Congress will be held in Białystok on 25-26 September 2019, and is accompanied by the slogan “Here the West meets the East”. The idea of cooperation, mutual inspiration, sharing knowledge and experience is well founded in the east of Europe and the European Community.
New factors affecting Poland's and Europe’s economic condition, valuable development ambitions, new development factors, opportunities and challenges, as well as issues and barriers to overcome – there will be much to discuss.
Like every year, the agenda of the sixth edition of the Eastern Economic Congress covers a comprehensive and current range of topics – from relations between the European Union and the east of Europe, international cooperation and common European investment, to changes relating to digitisation.
The motive of cooperation and integration combines the priority topics to be discussed at EEC – the focus is on cooperation between business and science, local authorities with investors, between entities across the border, the world of young innovations and mature business.
Renewable energy and “green industry”, which have both become economically attractive, the new form of EU funds, the labour market and the place of Eastern Poland in global logistics chains – these subjects complete the agenda of the two days of the Congress.
Discussions will also cover issues related to the agri and food markets, medical services, succession in family businesses – all topics that are very important for Poland’s eastern macroregion.
Over one thousand five hundred guests from the worlds of business, politics, local authorities and science, important and prospective partners in Poland’s economy. Each year the participants who join us in Białystok attest that the EEC is the most interesting event of its kind in Eastern Poland.
We are looking forward to two days of debates and discussions, meetings and accompanying events.
Once again we will elect TOP Investments in Eastern Poland and TOP Employers who promote exemplary projects and standards. Once again we will identify the leading start-ups in Eastern Poland.
The organiser and partners of the Congress will make sure that the agenda is up to date, that the scenario is interesting and that they both are implemented effectively. Nonetheless, it is a highly-qualified group of participants involved in the project: politicians, leaders of economic life, representatives of business and scientists, all of whom guarantee the high quality of the event.
