Wojciech Walulik – graduate of the Sport Champions' School in Wałcz, University of Szczecin and Academy of Physical Education in Cracow. Multiple Polish champion in kayaking. History enthusiast, social and sport activist. For many years he has been the president of the Podlaskie Regional Canoe Association, board member of the World Council for Research on Polonia, a member of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers, the Association of Siberian Deportees, the Association of Victims Memorial of the Augustów Roundup 1945. In 2006-2014 director of the II Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad Secondary School in Augustów. In November 2014 he was elected as a Mayor of Augustów, getting 70% support in the second round as a non-party candidate.
