Henryk Owsiejew

HENRYK OWSIEJEW, born on 29 March 1944 in the village of Boćki. In 1986 he graduated from mechanical faculty of the Lodz University of Technology. Then he started his professional career in Kozielsk Machine Factory ‘KOFAMA’ in positions of constructor and head of construction section. From 1973 to 1976 he worked at Paczkowski Machinery Industry Company as the main constructor and then as the deputy technical director. In 1976 he returned to Suwałki, and until 1979 he was the Vice-President of the City. From 1979 to 1983 he managed Polam – Farel lighting factory, set up by himself from the scratch. In the years 1989 - 2005 he was the Chairman of the Board of Litpol Sp. z o.o. (company with majority of French capital) and since 1997 also the Chairman of the Board of Malow Sp. z o.o. (also with majority of French capital). In 2005 he became the owner of both companies by buying the French capital. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board of Litpol Sp. z o.o. and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Malow company. The Litpol group has existed since 1989. These are several related companies: Litpol - founded in 1989 in Suwałki, Malow - founded in 1997, Litpol Ukraine located in Kharkov, Ukraine, joined the group in 2002, and Malow Skand located in Świnoujscie, Poland, that joined in 2014.

He has contributed a lot to Suwałki and Suwałki region. He also has invaluable contributions to the engineering and technical environment, entrepreneurs and sport. His great passion is sport as well as economic, social and innovative activity. He is one of the co-founders of the Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians (SIMP) and Polish Federation of Engineering Associations in former Suwałki Voivodeship and now in Podlasie Voivodeship. For many years he has been participating in the economic life of Suwałki and region as a member of the Economic Council at the Mayor of Suwałki. He is also a member of the Business Centre Club convention, the Chairman of the Podlasie Entrepreneurship Council at the Marshall of the Podlasie Voivodeship and a member of the College of Electors of the Eastern Arbitration Court.

As the owner of Malow company, he has been supporting activities of numerous organizations, associations and institutions acting for the benefit of local communities and sports development for many years. He was one of the organizers of Suwałki and Polish badminton. He is a co-founder and the main sponsor of Litpol-Malow Badminton Club in Suwałki. He is also a sponsor of first league Wigry football club, and first league Ślepsk Suwałki volleyball team.

For his activities and achievements he has been awarded with numerous prizes, including ‘The Yotvingian Spear Award’ granted by the Mayor of Suwałki in ‘economic activity’ category; the Golden Statuette of the Polish Business Leader (with eight diamonds) granted by the Business Centre Club; the title of Honorary Patron of Suwałki Sport for sport development activities in Suwałki; honoured with titles: ‘Meritorious for the City of Suwałki’ in 2014, ‘Suwałki Citizen of the Year 2016’, finalist of ‘Entrepreneur of the Year 2016’, distinction in ranking of Forbes magazine – Forbes Diamonds 2017, winner of the TOP Employers of Eastern Poland 2017 contest, Eagle of ‘Wprost’ magazine for being regional and business leader.
